Our story
The idea of Kiwi Born was first 'conceived' about 7 years ago. In my role as a Nurse and Midwife, I found I was being asked frequently by new mums about the best products to use on themselves and their babies, so I set about finding out more about the products, that I was regularly recommending.
I became concerned as I discovered more about the common ingredients being used in popular mum and baby products. There seemed to be many ingredients that were not only unnecessary, but in some cases, unsafe.

Made by midwives… naturally!
I started researching and learning about how to produce safe, effective products without any of the unnecessary and unsafe ingredients. I worked with experts such as pharmacologists, skin care experts and producers of natural oils and skin care ingredients, to perfect my products. I consulted with advisory groups such as the eczema and asthma societies, the American FDA and the Environmental Working Group (EWG) who compile the well respected ‘Skin Deep’ database, which is a comprehensive review system of cosmetics and skin care products and ingredients.
At first I began producing products, in my own kitchen. Some of the mums that I was caring for, tested out the first creams that I made, and their feedback was invaluable and very positive. With their help, I now feel that I have produced some perfect products for you to use, and I now have my own workshop to make them in!
We will always listen to what you have to say about our products, and will continue to review and improve them, as knowledge and research about natural ingredients improves or changes.
Our labels may be a little wonky, and our pots aren't posh, but what's inside them, we guarantee, is safe, beautiful skincare, you can trust.
